How to submit new infringements (files) for takedown

If you come across a file that is infringing but doesn't show up in your dashboard, you can request for it to be taken down

1. Select the relevant campaign and then click on the "Add Files" button located at the top right corner of your screen

The following screen will then appear -

Classic Dashboard Submit Infringements

2. Paste the exact URL(s) of the infringing file(s) (one per line). For example: https://SourceWebsite.net/file/12345.ArtistName.TrackName.M4A.rar.html

3. If available, paste the URL of the source website where the infringing file(s) are hosted. This is the website that displays your files but redirects you to another page for downloading. For example: https://SourceWebsite.net

4. Select the Campaign Product associated with the file(s)

5. Tick the box that says "Send Takedown to these files"

6. Click on the "Add Files" button

Note: You can add multiple files from one source website at a time. For files on other websites, repeat the process with a new source website URL.

It's essential for us to verify all submitted URLs to ensure the accuracy and legality of DMCA takedowns. This verification process may take up to 24 hours.

If you encounter any issues when adding a new file

Make sure that the URL you are adding includes a direct link for downloading the file. If the web page does not allow you to download the file directly and instead redirects you to another site to download the file, the original page is considered the Source URL.

If the web page does not have a downloadable link and you cannot find one on the website, you may be on a spoof site. These fake websites often require subscriptions, memberships, or surveys but do not actually have downloadable content. In this case, you can submit the URL to be delisted by Google.

If you try to add any of the following, you will receive an invalid link message. However, you can email these to the MUSO Support Team for review and feedback:

  • New untested piracy domains
  • Legal websites
  • Incorrect link formats
  • Certain domains that are non-compliant to DMCA takedown notices
