How to start a new campaign

How to guide for creating a new campaign to protect your content online

Getting started

  • Click the "Start New Campaign" button on your MUSO Dashboard.

Campaign options

  • Renew an Expired Campaign: (Existing customers only) This recovers details from a previous campaign, allowing you to edit them as needed.
  • Create a Brand New Campaign: This option starts fresh with a new campaign.

Choosing your media type

The first step involves selecting the type of content you want to protect. MUSO supports various media, including:

  • Music
  • Software
  • Film
  • Publishing

Each media type requires specific information during setup.

Campaign details by media type

Music:

  • Campaign Type: Choose from Artist, Album, EP/Singles, Track, Track including Various Artists, Various Artists Album/Compilation, or Soundtrack.
  • Required Fields: These vary depending on the chosen campaign type, typically including Artist Name, Album Name, Track Name, and Release Date.

Software:

  • Required Fields: Enter your Product Title and Release Date.

Film:

  • Campaign Type: Select Film, TV Series, Long Running Series, or Other.
  • Required Fields: These vary depending on the campaign type, typically including Film Title, Release Year, Series Title, Series/Season Number (if applicable), and Release Date.

Publishing:

  • Campaign Type: Select Book or Author.

Choosing your pricing plan

Once you've entered the necessary media details, select your desired pricing plan:

  • Monitoring Campaign (Free): This option allows you to track your content online but doesn't permit takedown requests.
  • MUSO Protect Campaign: This paid plan lets you issue takedowns for infringing content you find online.

Confirmation and additional information

  • Confirm you have the legal right to issue takedowns by checking the corresponding box.
  • Click "Add Campaign" to proceed.

Title details

  • The next step involves adding your title details (explained in our separate guide - "How to add titles".

For your first campaign

  • For your first campaign only, you'll need to also provide Takedown Notice Issuer Details, including your Company Name and Address, Rightsholder Name and Title, Email Address, and Phone Number.
  • After saving your Issuer Details, your campaign will be submitted for verification, which typically takes less than 24 hours.
