Terms and definitions
Type = Category of the infringement
- Blog or Forum - Websites which include embedded infringements and/or redirects to other websites which host the infringement
- Cyberlocker - Websites which offer a service of 'file hosting'. It is a storage service on the internet designed to accommodate user files, allowing them to store data which can then be downloaded by other users.
- eCommerce - Online shops and/or marketplaces which sell physical or digital goods
- Files - General term for infringing content that appears on a website
- Forwarder - A redirection website which referrs uses from one website to another
- Google - The delisting of results from Google's search engine. A Google delisting is the process whereby Google removes a link that infringes copyright from their search results.
- Indexer or Search Site - Platforms that aggregates infringements from piracy websites
- Lyrics - The unlicensed words of a song appearing on a website
- Online reading - Websites which embed an image on a web page, allowing consumers to view the content directly from their web browser
- Search engine - The delisting of results from a search engine
- Sheet Music - Unlicensed printed music appearing on a website
- Streaming - Infringing content which may be consumed directly in a web browser
- Social Media Site - A platform in which an online community engages in networking, communication, interaction and sharing content
- To be confirmed - The infringement type has not yet been identified for the link
- Torrent - Websites which allow content to be downloaded via P2P (peer to peer) networks
- UGC - User Generated Content created by individuals and uploaded to websites such as YouTube
Activity Status = The status of the infringement
- All statuses - All stages the infringing link is at in the removal workflow
- Authorisation required - The infringing link requires review before a takedown notice is issued
- Closed - The infringing content has not been removed. Please refer to the comment to see the reason why. One of the most common reasons is due to either the website, ISP or CDN being non-compliant to our takedown request, i.e. we have received no response from them.
- Complete - The takedown was successful and the infringing link has been removed OR in the case of Google delistings this means we’ve completed the submission to Google
- In progress - A takedown notice has been issued and it is progressing
- In progress - ISP - A takedown notice has been issued to the ISP and it is progressing
- Non-contactable site - The takedown cannot be issued because no valid or usable contact information is available. This includes sites that do not provide contact details, or where available contact methods are unreliable or unsuitable for processing removal requests.
- Rejected - The infringing content was submitted for authorisatiodn, and the authorisation was rejected
- Submission Authorised - The infringing link has been approved for takedown
- Submitted - The infringing link has been discovered or reported for takedown
- Unknown - A status has not been assigned to the infringing link
